Microneedling

Microneedling is an innovative cosmetic technique that stimulates the skin’s natural healing processes to address a variety of skin problems. This procedure is intended to improve the appearance of the skin and address problems like wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, loss of firmness and a dull complexion. The process produces tiny punctures that encourage the formation of collagen and elastin, two essential proteins that give skin its firmness, elasticity and youthful appearance. In addition, microneedling can resolve the problem with sun damage, scar correction and general skin tone and texture.

How does Laser Spider Veins Removal work?

Before beginning the Microneedling treatment the skin must be thoroughly cleansed to get rid of any impurities. This is necessary to guarantee that the treatment surface is clean and to lower the possibility of irritation or infection. To ensure that the patient is as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure, a specific numbing cream is put on to the skin after cleaning and typically left on for 20 to 30 minutes.

After the cream takes action, the specialist uses a microneedling instrument to start the treatment. These tools have multiple tiny needles that penetrate the skin’s outer layers and cause minute punctures. Depending on the treatment region and the individual demands of the skin, the depth of needle penetration can change. These micro-injuries stimulate the body’s natural healing process and encourage the synthesis of new collagen and elastin, which enhances the skin’s tone and texture.

After the treatment, the skin may be treated with specific serums or other products that penetrate deeply via the microchannels and contain helpful elements. This greatly increases the products’ efficacy and encourages quicker and more noticeable outcomes. The skin may be a little red and sensitive after the process, but these side effects usually go away in a few hours or days, leaving the skin feeling renewed, revitalised and renewed.

Contraindications for the Procedure
Pregnancy and lactation
It is not advised to have the procedure done when pregnant or breastfeeding.
Allergic Reactions
If you have known allergies to the topical anaesthetics or other products typically used during Microneedling, you should inform your specialist to avoid potential allergic reactions.
Active Skin Infections or Conditions

It is contraindicated to have active infections or inflammatory processes, such as herpes simplex (cold sores), eczema, psoriasis or severe acne in the treatment region

Active Acne or Open Wounds

Microneedling should not be performed on areas with active acne, cystic acne, or open wounds, as it may worsen the condition and lead to further complications.

Recent Facial Procedures

If you’ve recently undergone other cosmetic procedures, such as laser resurfacing, chemical peels, or dermal fillers, it’s important to allow your skin adequate time to recover before having Microneedling. Consult with your specialist to determine the appropriate waiting period.

Tendency to Scar
This technique may increase the risk of scarring if your skin is prone to developing hypertrophic or keloid scars.
Blood Disorders or Use of Anticoagulants
Individuals with blood clotting disorders, or those taking anticoagulant medications, should avoid Microneedling. The procedure involves micro-injuries that could lead to excessive bleeding or bruising.
Immunosuppressive Therapy or Conditions

If you are undergoing immunosuppressive therapy or have an autoimmune disorder, your skin may have a reduced ability to heal, increasing the risk of complications from the procedure.

Recent Sunburn or Tanning
Avoid Microneedling if you have recently been sunburned or have tanned skin, as this increases the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and other skin reactions.
Active Rosacea or Sensitive Skin
Those with very sensitive skin or active rosacea may experience heightened irritation or adverse reactions to Microneedling.
Oncological Conditions

This technique may not be appropriate if there are malignant tumours present or if you are currently receiving therapy for cancer.

Chronic disorders

Avoiding this procedure entirely or using extra caution is necessary for several chronic disorders, such as diabetes or autoimmune diseases.

Age Restriction

Microneedling is only available to individuals who are 18 years of age or older. Minors are not eligible for the procedure, as hormonal changes during adolescence can affect hair growth and reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

After the first session, the skin starts to repair and improve, and initial results can be noticed in 5-7 days. But the most obvious results usually appear after a few sessions later, usually around 4-6 weeks.

During the procedure clients have some discomfort, but any pain is typically minimised by applying a local anaesthetic cream to the skin. The majority of patients report just slight tingling, and the degree of discomfort varies depending on the area being treated and your sensitivity.

After the treatment, the skin may be red and slightly swollen, similar to a mild sunburn. Usually, this redness goes away in 24 to 48 hours. Some people may see mild peeling or flaking as the skin heals.

Yes, microneedling stimulates collagen stimulation and skin regeneration, which successfully improves the appearance of acne scars. It could take multiple sessions to see noticeable improvements.

Because microneedling doesn't use heat or light, which can lead to pigmentation problems, it is thought to be safe for all skin types, including those with darker skin tones. If you have severe acne or active skin infections, you shouldn't perform  the treatment.
